What I do think is that you shouldn't have to ADD a bathroom break to an IEP. If the teacher is aware of the fact that he is on meds and has ADHD or ADD to begin with, there should be exceptions to the rules. It sounds like this teacher has not worked with special needs children enough and isn't very flexible. If things don't change I would talk to the principal about her lack of flexibility and find other resources to work with your child. How embarrassing for your child and for something that never should have had to happen. When I was in grade 3 my teacher also denied me another bathroom break when I had just had one. I sure showed her when I threw up all over my desk! I thought to myself. that showed her! I cannot stress enough that parents need to be an advocate for their children and stand up to these teachers!
