Having a Hard Time Finding My Fit & ADHD Money Issues

well i'm having a hard time finding my fit in this life. see i thought i wanted to do film making for a while but it was so repetitive that it is driving me crazy. i thought about going into a brand manager position. but from what i could read it's mostly a lot of meetings and it's hard for me to sit in those meetings. so what i really love connecting is with ideas and using my ideas strengths me. writing is difficult for me and i'm not sure what's really out there for a guy like me. who wants to get paid to do creative work but doesn't have the patiences to sit and write for very long, or can't really draw to well, or be a film maker because it feels so technical and i miss details that make the video/film not make sense to the average viewer. anyone else know what i'm talking about? any advice? i look forward to hear from you guys. you're wonderful thanks, mack

ADHD Jobs

Hi mack:

Great question about finding the right career for an ADDer. It's tough to match skills and interests with a specific position - for anyone it usually boils down to a lot of trial and error, which you've already seen. Have you looked into advertising? The idea-generation there might be a good fit for you, and the writing is relatively minimal compared to journalism or even PR. Brand-management is actually a lot of analytical work - sales projections, conversion calculations, etc. So I wouldn't necessary recommend marketing. But maybe a Web strategy position? That's another route...

Good luck!
