Anyone Have Experience with Severe Anxiety on Concerta?
My son has been on Concerta for quite a while and all of a sudden he is having severe anxiety. He is worried about strange things like if his books and toys might be poisoned. His doctor put him on a really low dose of Celexia for anxiety, but it doesn't seem to be doing any good. I'm really worried about this! Has anyone else experienced anything like this? |

Yikes!
Hi, Concerta was the first ADD med that my Dr prescribed for me. I spent a hellish three days on the worst anxiety trip I had ever experienced(I'm 64). I stopped taking it and have been on Straterra ever since. I get nauseous if I take it any time other than before bed and have to take a sleeping pill with it to get to sleep. I also have had to take a low doseage heart medication since I have been on it. Needless to say, I am looking for a different remedy. |

Concerta
Hi there: That sounds horrible. I haven't heard anything specifically about Concerta and anxiety, but I thought you might find this article helpful in doing research for alternatives... ADHD Medication: Say No to Side Effects Best of luck! |

Concerta
I take Concerta every day of my life, and all I can report is that it's completely without side effects, as far as I can tell. One of the problems with self-diagnosis is the tendency to fall into the "post hoc, propter hoc" logical fallacy. "A" happens, and then "B" happens, so we deduce that A is the cause of B. I'm not implying that this is the case, merely that it's something to watch out for. I posted, somewhere on my blog, about my experience with Strattera, which was overwhelmingly negative. No help with the ADHD, tons of side-effects. |

Concerta issues
I tried Concerta because it worked so well for my girls. I did fine at first--but then started having problems at night.--dreams, seeing things, etc.. In addition, it altered my mood. I was aware that my 'moodiness' wasn't rational, but couldn't get myself out of the funk. My doctor changed my meds immediately. I now use Daytrana and really like it--no issues so far. |
