ADHD and Depression Does anyone else have a child diagnosed with ADHD and depression?? My son is diagnosed with ADHD, Aspergers and Depression./OCD. Just recently the psychiatrist started him on Paxil, with which he had multiple side effects - nervousness, severe dry mouth, smacking his lips, uncontrollable hand and finger movements and sleeplessness. After 4 days, he was taken off of Paxil. The doc waited 3 days, then started him on Prozac at 20mg. Today is the 3rd day on that, and he came home from school today with the same side effects, minus the lip smacking. Has anyone else been through this? Did the dic take yours off the med? Or did your child continue it and the effects go away after a few days? I have been on depression meds for years, but I never did have any side effects. Can anyone offer some insight on this? Quote

ADHD and Depression

Hi peggylynn - reading your post was scary because I could have written the same exact thing! My son was diagnosed with OCD, ADHD and most recently depression.
