Strattera and Sleep Issues

My 13 yr old daughter tried Strattera a couple of years ago, but we quit after about 4 weeks because she just couldn't sleep well. After trying many other things we are back to Strattera and we are going to try giving it to her at night instead of in the morning. Has anyone else had issues with sleep while on Strattera and did they go away with time? Thanks so much for any answers

Sleep Problems

Hi:

I've been doing a little research into sleep problems reported with Strattera, and have a few leads that might help...

Recently, our medical expert Dr. Larry Silver responded to a question about using clonidine to help children fall asleep while on Strattera.

Many ADHD adults and children - even those not taking ADHD medication - report sleep problems. So it's definitely hard to say whether Strattera is the culprit, or just ADHD in general. Regardless, here are some tips for getting your child to fall asleep faster, stay asleep longer, and wake up easier.

Also, some general information about ADHD medication and side effects.

Good luck! And let us know what you discover...

Strattera Sleep Issues

I too take Strattera as an adult. I have noticed that it makes me very tired all day and very restless at night when I take it in the morning. I have began to take it in the evenings before I got to bed and it has seemed to help a lot. I feel so much better. This was the advice of my doctor. It's worth a try.
