Need diagnosis

My son started off with a speech problem, stuttering, he is in first grade now and he still stutters. He now seems to have a learning disability. He can't sound out letters, doesn't recognize numbers or letters, writes some letters and numbers backwards and seems to not be able to retain information. He also looks uncomfortable in holding a pencil correctly and writes sloppily. Please help, I seem to be getting different opinions from different professionals and I don't know which direction to turn.

Need diagnosis

Don't rely on the school for an accurate diagnosis. I would look for a developmental pediatrician and also a psychologist who specializes in learning disabilities. Those would be my suggestions. I hope you are able to find some answers.

Good luck, Elaine
