Help With Medications - Vyvanse

My son just started taking Vyvanse for his ADHD and has been complaining of stomache pains. The medication has really helped with his behavior but I don't want him to suffer as a result. Does anyone have any suggestions for minimizing stomache pains? Has anyone had the same experience? The package insert says the stomache problems will decrease over time? What has been others' experience?

Thanks. Mary Ellen

stomach ache

I was trying Concerta and Vyvanse both recently and they both gave me an upset stomach a bit, I would literally stuff a piece of bread in my mouth on the way out the door, and it would help pretty well.....

Stomach Problems

Hi there:

Here is some information about curbing stomach aches in children taking stimulants from the ADDitude article ADHD Medication: Say No to Side Effects...

STOMACHACHES OR HEADACHES. No one knows why stimulants cause these problems in some kids. But often it's helpful if the child eats something before taking the pill. If the problem persists, it may be necessary to try a non-stimulant medication.

I hope this helps!
