Conquer College with LD/ADD - A New Course

As the parent of an learning disabled-LD son who graduated successfully and a college professional with a Masters in education from the University of PA, I have lived in the LD/ADD world a total of 27 years. With guidance and academic assistance my son navigated college wisely. However, I have seen many capable students at the community college where I work flounder, become frustrated, and eventually drop out. I find this particularly upsetting, for without my direction, that might have been my son. With too few resources to help students with disabilities, most colleges leave them to navigate in the dark. Unwittingly, students make poor decisions that eventually lead to their downfall.

To counter this, I wrote a course entitled CONQUER COLLEGE WITH LD, specifically for high school students and their parents. This 10-session course covers the entire transition process -- from what to do now in high school through to how to achieve success and independence in college. I will be teaching it again this fall in the Philadelphia area, but I have plans to take it to other cities in the form of a two-day seminar. NO ONE appears to be teaching these students how to prepare for and thrive in college!

If you would like more information about the course and/or a copy of "25 Rules for College Success for Students with LD", please e-mail me at TransitionSuccess@gmail.com.
