Need Tips on Disciplining My ADHD Child
My 4 year old child was diagnosed with ADHD--the combined type--in March of this year. I currently give her Ritalin,but I have no idea of how to discipline her because I really don't know how to deal with it. If anyone could give me some tips I would really appreciate it. Thanks Ellie |

I can offer what worked for me as a child...
Boredom is like, the ultimate punishment for a child that wants/needs constant stimulation. Sticking me in a corner for even 5 minutes felt like absolute TORTURE to me. Or possibly removing favorite toy for a few days or something. I always responded better to the corner or toy taking then I did spanking. You see, I remember what I did wrong when I put in the corner, but with spanking, all I remember is the act of spanking and not what I did wrong. EDIT: Not assuming you spank, just trying to provide a comparison.
