Hi there. My name is Michele and my husband has ADHD. He hasn't been officially diagnosed yet but he definitely has a marjority of the signs that I have read about. I swear I could have written some of these stories myself. His son was diagnosed with ADD a long time ago and now his daughter (both from a previous marriage) is being tested. I already knew my husband had ADD/ADHD but I thought it was limited to just inattention and hyperactivity. I had no idea until the other day how many areas of your life can be affected by it. Since I told my husband, its like he is a new person. We had a fight the other night (before I started researching the ADHD) and it was the rock bottom for us. But now that we know what's going on, its like our eyes are opened and everything makes sooooo much more sense now for as long as I can remember.

I'm sure I'll be posting from time to time and definitely reading the articles because they are so full of wisdom and insight. Its refreshing and I feel like there is a light at the end of the tunnel when not too long ago, I felt nothing but despair and that our marriage was headed down the tubes. Wow, what a difference a few days makes.

I do have a question if anyone can help me out. I have found information on adults with adhd, parents discipling kids and helping them with school when they have adhd but is there any information out there on how siblings can deal with each other when they have adhd? Just wondering. Thanks!

Michele

I am a male who was recently diagnosed with AD/HD, and let me tell you it tends to be a relief because now you know your enemy and what you are batteling against. From what I have been reading these past two weeks it will be a learning experience for the entire family and there will be changes on everyones part, especially in comunication to each other. There are many great people here who will be able to give you great advise and help. This is an excellent site with alot of information, you can also look at. http://www.addresources.org/article_adhd_checklist_amen.php I would also google AD/HD and read all you can to get a better understanding, as they say knowledge is strength. Best of luck
