Post-Partum ADHD
Hi meejay:
Welcome to the ADDitude forums! As a new mother without ADHD, I can safely say that disorganization, anxiety, exhaustion, forgetfulness, and general grouchiness are common symptoms of post-partum motherhood. It's quite possible that you do have ADD, and that the ADD symptoms are making your post-partum life even tougher than it would be otherwise.
It's also possible that all of the hormonal changes of pregnancy did squash your ADD symptoms for nine months - I actually have a friend who's lupus was 'cured' by pregnancy, so stranger things have happened. The ADD may be gone for good or it may be returning now that your hormones are down off Cloud 9. The only way to know for sure is to meet with a doctor specializing in ADHD so that she can evaluate you and prescribe a treatment plan if needed.
One note: If you are nursing, you definitely need to speak with a doctor before beginning any ADHD prescriptions. Here's more information about that: http://www.additudemag.com/adhd/article/910.html
For now, here are some articles that might help you evaluate your symptoms...
