Gabapentin for aggressive behavior

My son takes Adderall XR. It seems to make him extremely aggressive at times. His doctor has now prescribed Gabapentin in addition to the Adderall. Does anyone have any experience with this? I don't see much of a difference in his behavior.

RE: Gabapentin for aggressive behavior

How is the Gabapentin working? My son is on Strattera and still has really aggressive behavior and mood swings and tantrums. I am looking into switching his medication possibley.

bipolar disorder

Has your doctor ruled out bipolar disorder? ADD medication doesn't treat and can exacerbate symptoms (mood swings, aggression). It can be difficult sometimes to distinguish between bipolar and ADD in children, as well as adults, and the two frequently coexist. This is a starting point, though you will need to ask your doctor:
