A Lot to Take In!

My 3 and 1/2 year old was diagnosed last week after living with a diagnosis of "regulatory" disorder for the last year....Of course, I have believed there was something "wrong" for the last two years but am now analyzing and assessing everything.....Does he REALLY have adhd? Is he just really active?.......I feel terribly guilty in pursuing this diagnosis, like I have somehow betrayed him...Is this reaction typical? And now what? I am not comfortable entertaining the idea of medications until he older and able to talk with me about their effects....He is already a slim and skinny guy with limited attention or desire for eating....I am worried about long term effects for someone so young.....I am actually in special education so I feel like I have a good working knowledge of behavioral approaches..........

Alternative Therapies

Hi:

You haven't betrayed your son - you're obviously a very loving mom and have only your son's best interests in mind! The diagnosis is tough, but you're doing the right thing in taking things slow. I would recommend downloading our new free report about alternative ADHD treatments to learn more about behavior therapy, fish oil and other natural treatments... http://www.adhdreports.com/alternative-adhd-treatment/

I hope that helps!
