Organizing
Hi. This is my first time here. I would like to know if anyone has any suggestions on how I can get started cleaning and organizing. I have been reading and have a plan on what to do to clean my house, but can't seem to get started and focus and tune out distractions. I end up doing small things and by 3:00pm I get tired. I sit and relax for an hour or so and my have a little more energy to get up and finish the day. But by the end of the day, nothing is still done. I have improved a little by being up and doing small stuff and keeping up with my dishes, but that's where it usually ends. Any suggestions?? |

House Cleaning--Game On!
Hi Lucky Mommy, May I suggest you play a game with yourself to tune out distractions and get started cleaning? Two ideas I use with clients: 1. Pretend you are in your best friend's house for 30 minutes (set a timer!) Do what you would do for her. See dishes in the sink? Load them in the dishwasher. See a pile of clothes on the floor? Toss them in the hamper. Leftovers in the fridge need to be tossed? Do it "for her." Treat yourself as good as you do your best friend! 2. Pick a number, any number. Your number might be 4. Go into any room of your home and do 4 things related to cleaning. For example, in your bathroom you might do these 4 tasks (keep count!)
Then try to keep going in another room (the bedroom, the laundry room, the garage, etc.) Good Luck! http://www.metropolitanorganizing.com
