Ritalin

It can depend on the type of medication and whether it is short acting or an extended release form. I doubt she is on regular, short-acting Ritalin at that amount, but I could be wrong. My son was taking 72 mg. of Concerta and I am on 140 mg. of Vyvanse.

Individuals metabolize medications differently. And some of the recommended dosage amounts are aimed at children and not adolescents or adults. If her doctor is prescribing that amount and she is doing well on that dosage without serious side effects, it may be the right amount for her. I'm not a doctor and I don't know all the particulars of her situation.

Ritalin dose

Hi, I guess the dose depends on the person. i am 35 and was dx 2 years ago. I started on 25 mg a day of concerta. I found I got a lot of headaches so changed to slow release 40 mg a day. I continued this for about a year but found that I last my spark. I stopped for 4 months and felt part of the world again! However I am struggling again, I've got them in the cupboard and don't know what to do! It does sound that your friend is on quite a blot and I am aware that I take a lot less that some children! Hope that helps. Lisa
