Asperger's Article

I know you got my other suggested links about ADHD and ODD, but here's another great article about a family dealing with Asperger's: http://www.additudemag.com/adhd/article/1014.html

Good luck!

my son has just been diagnosed with adhd/odd & aspergers

hi: i am an adult with adhd & aspergers, & yes at times it goes very well, without any struggles, & at other times it is very hard. i think that if people that don't struggle with adhd,& aspergers, could remember that in being around a person with adhd, & aspergers, to just give us time in any situation, wether it's a new enviorment or an enviorment that is familiar, that all we need is some time to adjust to our surroundings, & that we are very capable. i know it's hard, my friends & family have a hard time dealing with me at times, because even though i know how to controll my hyperness, & even though i am verble, sometimes my whole system shuts down, & i go inside myself & shut dow even more, when people around me don't give me the space or the time that i need to adjust.

so just remember that at times it will be hard both for you & your son, & in those hard times, just try to stay calm, & give your son time to adjust to the envirorment, & in the times that are not a struggle just be thankful for that.

also remember that in both the stuggles & the good times to always give a lot of praise & positive reinforcment . hope this helps you!!!! if you want to tallk further, call me- 952-212-8670
