Also seeking info on Neurosensory Centers of America - TX locati
We took our 9 year old ADHD daughter to a free screening a few weeks ago and they performed a balance test and a vestibular test to check the inner ear. Her balance was good but the inner ear test indicated a possible viral infection. They do accept insurance and treat other neuro-sensory disorders (dizziness, imbalance, migraines, chronic headaches, autistic spectrum, sensory integration and post-concussion syndrome). We scheduled a follow up visit the next week because we thought we'll always wonder "what if?" if we don't check it out. My husband took our daughter to the follow up visit today where they performed more tests (tympanogram, memory tests, visual tests -- don't know the clinical name for these) related to the inner ear and her vision and how these two senses work together. After all test results were reviewed the doctor suggested treating her with two anti-viral medications and suggested we put her on a multi-vitamin as well. He also recommended we have a urine sample checked for heavy metals which requires a special pill be taken prior to the specimen. The pill is not covered by insurance. We haven't filled any of the prescriptions yet as we just received these today. I was searching for more info before we move forward with this type of treatment.
Is anyone else familiar with this approach and if so, have you seen improved results? One side effect we were told is that the anti-viral medication may make our already hyper child even more hyper for a short time while the medication is being absorbed.
