Hi, I read your post and was wondering how your daughter is doing taking the combination of both medicines? My 7yr old son has also taken four different stimulants within the past year and a half , and none seem to last long term. I don't undrestand why they seem to help for a while and then just stop. Any information you can give me about, their effectivness, side effects,ect I would really appreciate. Perhaps my doctor would consider trying these. Thanks

My daughter has tried Concerta, Focalin XR, Daytrana, Vyvanse, Strattera, and Clonidine. Concerta, Focalin XR, Daytrana, and VyVanse are all Ritalin base stimulants. They all have about the same side affects. Strattera and Clonidine are nonstimulants. My daughter was having heart palpitations/tachycardia recently I think due to the stimulants from what her pediatrician said. Her EKG was normal. Even when she started the nonstimulants she was having palpitations. If they have heart problems they should not be taking the stimulants and nonstimulants. I am looking at other alternatives like diet and Omega Brite for Kids to see if it helps her.
