For the Artists

Hello!

I was wondering what can we do if we think we are an artist? It's already tough to earn a living as an artist without be an ADDer. Having ADHD as an artist can be very hard. But thinking about who I am for a while, I finally established this conclusion. Particularly, I am a writer and I dream to live off my books, to become an author.

I already worked for newspapers as a reporter but I don't really like this kind of writing because it's not creative enough. I also have a lot of writing ideas and subjects each week.

Do I dream too much or can my dream become true? Do you have any kind of advice?

Thanks in advance,

French Canadian

Some Helpful Resources

Hello French Canadian:

Your question is a great one - for ADDers and non-ADDers alike. You're quite lucky that you've determined your career calling and know what kind of work would truly make you happy - that is more than half the battle. Making a living at it is a totally separate challenge. There's no magic formula or advice except maybe hard work and determination. In your case, it might mean holding down a day job at a newspaper to pay the bills while writing a book proposal at night and trying to sell that before quitting your paycheck. Here are a few articles that might help as you navigate the path toward Professional Artist...

Thank You !

Thank you for all these good words, Anni. I already went to see a lot of the links but your advices are very appreciated. I'm also thinking to try in photography, cause I believe that I have talents for it.
