Looking For Answers

Hello, I am somewhat new to the forum but not new to ADHD. My husband and I have 4 children, two of which are ADHD. Our children are now stepping into the adult world and I am noticing some problems. My eldest, like many ADHD children is very bright but lacks socially. He is now 27, has two degrees, electrical engineering and physics. He is gainfully employed and likes his work.

Ok now here in lies 'the' problem. I find him hyper focused on his projects at work. He works for a great company that allows him the challenges he craves. I do find that when I talk with him that he cannot seem to relax into any kind of a conversation.

After writing this note I think I have my own answer. I will talk with him about going back on his medication. He did well with it up through the seven years of college.

Thanks for the forum to talk. Any responses would be welcome.

Jan

I just have to say that it gives me such hope to hear about the good things your child(ren) are doing as adults. We are just beginning the teenage years, and things have been quite a challenge. It sounds like your son has found a niche. What a blessing!
