I feel like I'm beating my head up against a wall. I know if the state of NC had mental health services for people who suffer from ADD/ADHD, bipolar as well as OCD along with all the other mental illnesses, that people like Jr who suffer from ADHD as well as OCD would probably feel like they have more balance in their life. Now medication isn't for every one - I myself haven't been on medication since I was 17, simply because I choose to handle my ADD on my own terms - a lot of ADDer's feel this way, so i'm not the only one. How ever I do feel that if Jr were to find himself a good mental health Dr who could properly prescribe the right medication to help his ADHD as well as his OCD , I think it would emensely help Jr and I know it would make our relationship alot better in general. Truth be told, I love this man very very much , I'm the only one who really understands him mentally, i'm the only one who understands his ADHD as well as his OCD , given the fact that Jr's family is incredibly disfunctional - none know how to handle him or his ADHD / OCD - none of them truly understand him the way I do - now I have my times when his hyper activeness along with his OCD get on my very last nerve simply because I feel over whelmed, not to menton the fact that I'm not a hyper fuctioning person , I go my own pace , so Jr gets aggrovated because I'm not going to his set pace - now the OCD gets on my nerves more than his ADHD simply because Jr is expecting perfection out of me which he doesn't mean to - unfortunately it's all part of the his OCD, I guess Jr feel if he doesn't do things perfected, properly and in order that god is going to be less pleased with him - I think alot of Jr's OCD comes from the fact that for so many yrs he did really foul, messed up things in his life - like having a crack / cocaine addiction, stealing and then selling the stuff he stole to have money to feed his addiction- I guess Jr feels that by giving in to the ritualizing and constiently rechecking things that he's proving to god that he's changed his ways- I know all of that sounds really stupid but I don't think anyone in Jr's family realize how the disfunction over the yrs has affected Jr. Fact of the matter is I challange Jr, I challange his OCD by not letting him give in to his rituals - I'm always telling him if he can beat the addiction he had with crack/ cocaine , then he can be the OCD monter.
