Hyperfocus + Physical Activities = Overdoing It!

Does anyone else overdo it during physical activity due to their hyperfocus? I find that I over work my body during physical activity...doing yard chores or any activity that requires me to move a lot. After I stop to relax, my over-exertion catches up with me, my body aches and I feel completely drained. I realize that I am paying for my sins of overexretion. My question is how do I recognize that I am overexerting myself while doing the activities...apparently I am missing some very important cues. Any suggestions or tips as to how I might see these cues?

On the third page, it talks about ways to 'break the spell' of hyperfocus, and recommends using stopwatches and other timers to remind you to move on.
