making elephant go away

I meant to add, Dr. Hollowell, that no one BESIDES a world-known and highly respected and trusted ADHD expert such as yourself could make that elephant go away for me! PLEASE RESPOND AND TELL ME IF YOU WOULD CONSIDER PRESCRIBING AN ADHD MEDICATION TRIAL FOR A TEENAGED PATIENT WITH A CLOSE BIRTHFAMILY MEMBER WITH SCHIZOPHRENIA/BI-POLAR AND ANOTHER WHO WAS DIAGNOSED WITH SEVERE ADHD WHO TESTED POSITIVE FOR BARBITUATES AT THE TIME OF OUR DAUGHTER'S BIRTH? AND, IF SO, WHICH MED(S) MIGHT BE THE LEAST-RISKY TO TRY FIRST? Thank you so much for reading and responding to this msg!!!

interested in any advice!!!!!!!!

This is my first time on site, just signed up, trying to look into some homeopathic treatments to get my son off of prescription meds. He has been on medications since he was 2 years old. He has been on every medication that you could ever think of. He has been diagnosed ADHD/Aspergers, bipolar, amongst other. His behaviors have gotten so bad, that i have literally had to institutionalize him 2 times, which didnt help because all they done was dope him up so bad he couldnt walk. I am a mother to 6 children. He is the 2nd of 6. He is VERY angry all the time. He beats up his siblings ALL the time. He thinks he is everyones boss including mine. He has to have conflict going on at all times. But on the other hand, he is very smart to the point that if one of his siblings have something that he wants, he will go get something of his, trade them, to get what they have, and when the next time rolls around, and the siblings dont wana give him what he's asking for, then he will take back what he gave them the first time. He is very awesome at sports. He's been in sports since the age of 3. He is currently trying to train as pitcher, but has to learn the control issues that come with it. I have been thru several of the obsession issues with him that come with aspergers, including cell phones, lottery tickets, snakes, bugs, turtles, and now food. he has gained so much weight is scary. he has been on depakote, ritalin, concerta, seroquel, risperdone, lithium, clonidine, immiprine, metadate, and those are just a very few that i can remember, but there are several others. I know he has so much more potential, if we could only get the problems he has under control. have been doing some research, and am actually considering trying rescue remedy, maybe cina (C6), maybe st.johns wort. and chamomile. Im willing to try anything at this point. I want to go the herbal route. he has been on meds for 7 years, and if there is any way possible to do it herbal, that would be a dream come true. his main issues im trying to get controlled are anger, temper tantrums, atleast 10-12 a day, to the point of kicking walls ect., hitting siblings. Any advice would be so much appreciated. All this herbal stuff is new to me, and i just started researching it a couple of hours ago. thanks so much!!!!!!!!!!!

Homeopathic (Natural) Remedies to treat ADD

Please let me know what plan your son followed that included Vitamins, Diet etc. Quote:

RTatum said: Its great to hear that you are pursuing natural remedies. Try to find a program that addresses both the supplement side and the dietary needs of ADD/HD. Unless your daughter has behavioral issues, the medications often don't do much for improved school work. We were very successful in treating my son's ADD through natural means that included vitamins/supplements and a diet program developed by a nutritionist/MD. My son, after almost failing 8th grade, graduated 5 months early from high school with a 3.5 grade point average and has gone on to a succeessful life. There are a few basic things you can do. B-6 100 mgs, one per day, is almost a wonder vitamin for ADD. It increases neurotransmitter activity and focus and there are so many other ways to help her. If you would like to know more, please post a response and I will be happy to give you more info.
I would really like to know more about what your son used to be so successful in school. My son is 14 and has ADD and he cannot take prescription medicine. My son like your son does not have behavioral problems he just cannot study is school.

Thank you
