Behavioral Problems in School

I have a 13 year old daughter that was diagnosed with mild mental retardation and ADHD when she was younger. She is in a segregated class in school. She has recently, since December, started having behavioral problems in school. She says she loves school. She has started hitting and kicking the teacher and hitting other students. She has just recently been suspended for 4 days. We are at our wits end and do not know what to do anymore. I started taking her to a psychologist and she is to be reevaluated soon to see if some medication might help her. The school has said that if she gets suspended again, then the next step is expulsion and my husband said that social services would get involved then. Has anyone else had this sort of issue happen before and have any ideas that might help. Thanks so much.
