HELP
DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS. I HAVE A TEN YEAR OLD WHO HAS ADD. I JUST FOUND OUT THAT SHE TOOK TWO OF MY CREDIT CARDS AND CHARGED UP $700 WORTH OF STUFF. SHE HAS STOLEN FROM ME IN THE PAST TO GET WHAT SHE WANTS BUT NOT TO THIS DEGREE. SHE TOOK MY STATEMENTS AND PUT THEW BACK IN THE OUTGOING MAILBOX SO THAT I WOULD NOT FIND OUT ABOUT THE CHARGES. I DONT KNOW HOW TO PUNISH HER. I DONT WANT TO BE TO SOFT AS I BELEIVE THIIS WILL NOT STOP THE BEHAVIOR. THE POLICE DEPARTMENT OR ANY OTHER AGENCY CANNOT HELP. I AM SO FRUSTRATED. I HAVE CALLED TO GET HER IN COUNSELING, BUT NEED TO PUNISH HER. ANYONE HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS. LISA |

Pay Back
I have had this problem with my two boys (11 & 13) but NOT to this extent. It has been smaller amounts of money with them. In any case, they have had to pay me back. Any money given for birthday or Christmas, I get it. If they earn money for anything, I get it. I keep track on a chart so they know exactly how much money they have left to pay back and how far they have come. I also take away whatever was purchased with the stolen money (if possible) and they could not have it back until they had paid me back all the money that was stolen. This may seem harsh to many people, but it has stopped them from stealing any more money from me. Good luck, I think you're going to need it. |
