In my same job but expected to do 2 kinds of work...

I work in a religious bookstore that's part of a corporation w/5 stores and website, etc. This started out as the job that ended my job hopping because there was variety. I'm not just chained to a register, I wait on customers on the floor, do computer work, displays, warehouse, you name it. The people are nice and usually patient with my ADD, the most annoying thing being when I have to ask them to wait to ask me a question because a thought essential to my own work is trying to fly out of my brain! However, corporate is now having us enter our own special orders for customers, but we don't get to go to a different place where we can concentrate (sometimes I can use my boss's office but not always) and oftentimes we have to do it on the fly while still trying to check out customers at the register or needing help on the floor. I find myself carrying unfinished work under my armpit because I don't dare lay it down! I have a tray but if I haven't even had a chance to get the work to where I can safely leave it in the tray I have to carry it around. I look dorky and scatterbrained doing that, and worry that customers think I don't consider them important enough to drop everything else to serve them. However, I'm coping the best I can -- I just wondered if there are any others out there like me? I went through college in the 80s and graduated with one of the highest GPAs in my class and yet know I will never have a conventional career -- which is OK because I realize I'm more artistic and entrepreneurial anyhow -- but it would be nice to be able to clear the mortgage & bills in the black each month. Moonlighting has occurred to me but seems that time to pursue creative (possibly lucrative) goals would be even more limited. Might try it for a short while though as I'm in transition -- my Mom passed away in Feb. and the estate's going to have to go through probate and I want to buy the house in my name if I can qualify. But I digress! I was diagnosed ADD in 1995. I take Luvox for OCD and Xanax for anxiety and thyroid supplement. Wanted to try Strattera but am leery because of a family history of glaucoma. (Anyone w/that combo that's been able to take Strattera without problems?)
