Issues finding resources or professionals in Michigan

I'm a 31 y/o male and I discovered about 2 years ago I had ADD, I was living in Florida at the time and was regularly seeing my doctor so I had no issues with my meds or if I had any other issues. Now the problem is I have moved to Michigan and I had seen a Dr and a therapist, neither of which I liked or felt comfortable with for various reasons. The problem I have now is -- my meds are not working so well and I cant find any local resources to help me, and its affecting my work and personal life. Can anyone recommend anyone in the Ann Arbor area that see's adults and takes insurance.

Resources in Michigan

Unfortunately I don't live in Michigan so I can't help you there. However you might try going to www.chadd.org They are a national organization for children and adults with ADHD. They do have some professionals listed throughout the country. You click on a map with your state, etc. Even if they don't have anyone listed, if there is a local CHADD group, contact them. They may know of some professionals and may even have a support group in your area. Then you can talk to other individuals and see who they know.

I attend a local CHADD support group in my area and I've gotten helpful information through them. Good luck.

psychologist Arthur Robin

Dr. Robin is a top expert. Last I heard, he runs the CHADD chapter....forget exactly where. He's on staff at Wayne State Unviersity, so you could start there. Or Google him....Arthur Robin, Ph.D.

Also rec CHADD

Hi, I just moved and am also looking for a Dr to manage my meds. First thing I did was contact local chapter of CHADD. Unfortunately they just started this chapter and couldn't reccommend anyone, so I'm still looking. However, I got SO much help from my previous CHADD group in Florida I would recommend joining your local group. I've already posted our next meeting (Sept 1)on my calendar!
