This happens only occasionally to my son (10) I feel for you!!! Gravol? Benedryl? I've tried both and they do work. But the curious thing is that this weekend, away for Easter, I had none of these alternatives. My sister suggested we give him warm milk and a regular Advil - but tell him it's a sleeping pill, as well as a headache pill.( he also had a headache - from chocolate perhaps?) The placebo effect worked - he was asleep before the pill could possibly have done anything and it was a low dose one anyway. I have wondered before if it just that he gets so anxious about not sleeping that he can't sleep.

I think the previous suggestions are great. If not try the Benadryl depending on her weight. it will be 12.5 mg to 50. It will make her sleepy within a few minutes; just make sure she drinks allot of water can it can dry out the sinuses. In very rare cases it can have the opposite effect and stimulate. Sometimes in the morning many people feel groggy. Make sure she isnt getting caffeine or eating chocolalte before bed because this could be keeping her up at night.
