Pets
I have never heard of a helper dog for ADHD or depression. The blind and even the hearing imapred have special pets; but as far as I know they are specialed trained. In the nursing homes we have animals who live in the faciltity . as far as I know they belong to facility and the facility is responsible for all their bills, food, shots etc. I am a big believer in animals for helping to teach a lot about responsibility; and they are a great reliever of stress and depression due to the love they give you. My advice is look for a even tempered animal; and if you chose a dog or cat from a shelter realize they may have their own issues . Don't pick a animal on impulse connect with the animal on a spiritual level(For a lack of a better word) . I have had labs which were a wonderful breed who love the outdoors, swimming etc. Now I have a pitbull who is a real people dog; and cats who where all left to die . I took them in a puippy and kittens and each one of them bring something special to my home. However when they need the vet I am the only one who pays the bills. They do have an animal insurance ; but in my opinion the premium isn't worth what you get for the treatment. When they are young and healthy the cost is low. Spade the animal so you aren't driven crazy by the cycles; as they get older the need for the treatment is more.
