Has anyine heard of

Has anyone heard about Phosphatidylserine for add/adhd? I have found some info but not enough. My 10 yr old son has been diagnosed for 7 years and we have done everything our Doc says. He has an IEP at school and I email with his teacher on a daily basis so we can nip everything in butt early. He has just been changed to a new med called Vyvanse and I do not like what I have read and want something different. I will give it try for a little while but I still want other options. Or if there is someone who is having success with vyvanse. I am worried about how he will be after long term use. Thanks exhausted

Vyvanse

My son and daughter are both on Vyvanse and we haven't had any problems. My son is 16 and my daughter is 26. What in particular are you concerned about? My sister is also a pharmacist so I ask her questions about medications frequently. Keep in mind that when you read the inserts that come with the medication they have to list every possible side effect, even if only one person had a problem out of hundreds. And that doesn't even mean that it was related to the medicine. If I was part of the studies done on a particular medicine and I developed a sore throat at the same time, they might list that as a possible side effect. My sore throat may have had nothing to do with the medicine but they have to list it as a possible side effect.

My daughter has an allergic reaction to penicillin but millions of people take penicillin without any problems. Be aware and educated and discuss your concerns with your doctor and pharmacist.

Elaine

Anyone heard

These side effects usually do go away after a short amt of time. I can't give you a specific length of time that these will last since everyone is different. But, if these side effects don't go away soon complain again to his doctor and make him hear you or you may need to seek out another doc. I hope that these side effects resolve soon. As I know that you are worried. Just try to be patient and keep in touch as for what you and/or your doc do. Sorry if this wasn't enough I wasn't sure what else to say.

Thanks so much. I know you know all to well about all the worries that are involved with a child with adhd. I have three children and so far just my middle son has it. I also believe my hubby has it to. My 2 yrold isn't showing signs yet but well you know. I can say he is not his brother. Thanks again. I will keep you posted. exhausted

I would be careful with the magnesium. It is the same ingredient that is in Milk of Magnesia and can give your child diarrhea.(Hope I spelled that correctly).
