New Treatment for ADHD

* Recent Issue Posted - A New Study of Fatty Acid Supplementation for ADHD *

If you missed the May issue of Attention Research Update, it is now available on the web. In this issue of Attention Research Update I review an interesting study on the use of omega-3 fatty acid supplementation as a treatment for children with high levels of ADHD symptoms. Prior research on this treatment approach - which has been reviewed in Attention Research Update - has yielded promising results and the study described below makes a nice addition to this developing body of work. I believe you will find the results of this study to be quite interesting.

If you missed this issue when it was sent out several weeks ago, I believe you will find it to be of interest. You can find the article at www.helpforadd.com/2007/may.htm

Omega 3 helps brain functions

I have been taking Omega 3 supplements for years now. I started taking it actually to help out my joints, because I have Kallman's Syndrome, which can lead to oesterprosis (not sure if I spelled that right). But later learned that the Omega 3 helps brain functions as well. I have seen a tremendous improvement in concentration and also calmness since I been taking them.

Omega 3

I was giving my son Omega 3 for a long time and didn't notice any difference. I'm very much in favor of alternative treatments but this didn't do it for us.

Have you tried zinc??

There are great studies out there on zinc and how most adhd brains are deficient. I have been doing it in conjunction with a very pure DHA omega 3 oil for my son and so far it seems to have helped.

zinc/omega 3

Dear Bonnie, Do you know if there is a test the doctor can give to confirm whether someone has a zinc deficient? Would you mind telling which brand of omega 3 oil you are using and does it have the 4 to 1 epa to dha ratio that some articles are suggesting is best? Thanks
