You know you have ADD when . . .

You take out an earring to play with during a boring movie and you put it back . . . into the wrong ear, nestled right up against another earring.

You suspect you should make a list of things to post, because you know ideas are going to pop into your head later, but you don't, and can't figure out why not.

While waiting for your nails to dry, you absentmindedly paint a tree with the nail polish on your open schedule book.

Uuh . . . something else, I'm sure there is . . . I give up. I'm sure I'll have something terribly interesting to say in another reply-thing. (What do you call these things anyway? Posts? Replies?)

Yes, here I am again. Well, what do you know? I'm ADD.

I love this one. When I forget my medication, I wear a half-lidded, drugged-up expression and walk swaying like a drunkard. I suspect other have made the remark around me, "what's up with her? She looks like she's on drugs or something," but I can't know for sure, because I was so out-of-it at the time.

1. All your school report cards from the beginning until the end of your education mention something about your "potential", the fact that you are "easily distracted", are always "distracting others", are very "capable" and apparently need to "focus". Yet, because you're female, your ADD/ADHD wasn't diagnosed until you were an adult.

2. You talk so quickly when you're excited that your family/friends/partner/anybody has to tell you to slow down and be a little quieter.

3. Your partner is tired at 1am, but this is when you have a second wind and proceed to want to discuss politics, music, study, life, books (anything) until they try and smother you with a pillow.

My 3 cents :). I'm new to this, and am very excited to have found such a good resource on ADD and with a great forum to match!

Forgot this one!

When no one understands an idea/opinion/observation that you are explaining, querying whether you are on drugs or not. One becomes frustrated and accuses person of not listening. They still think you are not making any sense, so you inform them that they simply do not understand abstract concepts.

This happens way too often. Everything makes sense to me, but I will just go with the theory that everyone else is stupid, not me :)
