I, too, love the newly-released, revised edition of Shut Up About Your Perfect Kid written by Gina Gallagher and Patricia Konjoian, sisters who are also both moms to children with special needs. The book is an incredibly funny yet compassionate and sincere look at raising imperfect children, based on the authors' lives with their own now-teenage daughters. As if by virtue of being teenagers their girls weren’t imperfect enough, Gina’s daughter Katie has Asperger’s syndrome and Patty’s daughter Jennifer is diagnosed with bipolar disorder. As the mom of Natalie, a just-barely-imperfect child with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADD/ADHD), I found something to identify with, and laugh about, on every single page.
