Meet Me

Those are the facts. Now here are the feelings.

I can sum up the last five years of my life in one word. You think I’m going to say LOVE, don’t you? WRONG!

Of course, I love Natalie like crazy. But the overriding feeling, my constant state of being, is OVERWHELMED!

Picture me: Shoving piles of garbage and toys out of the way with my feet so I can walk into Natalie's room to put her to bed.

Here I am: Opening a disconnect notice from the electric company a month after it arrived in the mail. We can afford to pay our bills. We just can’t find them!

Tax Preparer at H & R Block: “Are we ready?”
Me: “No!”
Tax Preparer: “Then why are we here?”
Me: “Because it’s April 14th!”

I don't have ADHD. I have 30-plus years of always arriving at least 5 minutes early to prove it. I have a child with ADHD. Her chaos is my chaos. Her distraction is my distraction.
