Shape School Behavior with a Daily Report Card

Teachers and parents of children with ADHD can use this method to spark better behavior in a hurry.

The daily report card can focus on one problem area or on several for a child with attention deficit disorder (ADD ADHD). Each behavioral target should be self-explanatory or explained to the child in advance, such as: "Accepts feedback in an appropriate manner."

Here are a few examples:

Classwork

  • Starts work with four or fewer reminders
  • Completes assignments with 70% accuracy
  • Contributes to class discussion with three or more original and relevant comments

Conduct

  • Interrupts class fewer than three times
  • Remains seated with four or fewer reminders
  • Teases classmates fewer than three times

Responsibility

  • Gives DRC to teacher
  • Has materials necessary for class
  • Brings completed homework to class
