Subtle Reminders

Teachers can discreetly bring kids back to task without embarrassing them.

 

When I notice that a student in my classroom seems to be off-task, rather than speak to him, I walk down the aisle and discreetly put a sticky note on his desk. Middle-school students appreciate this because it helps them re-focus without embarrassing them.

    What a lovely teacher. This approach would reduce the tendency to become 'class clown'.
