Going to the Doctor

What you should consider before you see your doctor about an ADD/ADHD diagnosis

ADD / ADHD Medication for Children ADDitude Magazine

Come with a list of questions that you want to discuss at the time of the visit, as well as your specific concerns. The more specific you can be, the more your physician can address your question. If, for example, you are certain you have ADD because you've met numerous criteria and have already taken some of the basic questionnaires or tests, bring them with you to your appointment. Usually, your physician will be glad to review these to determine if you are on the right track with your assessment of your disorder.

WE believe you-ignore Dr. & husband!
Even if the letter you posted on this popular ADHD website was somehow read by only me, with your mom & you aware of the facts- we outnumber the ignorant men you're letting upset you! You ARE whining, dear. You're in the right place to learn more about how to live with symptoms that finally make sense. What a relief, right? Now grow up, & tell your husband which "stupid" "immature" behaviors were actually evidence of a disorder you're learning how to live your best possible life with, because now you know what caused him to misunderstand you.

    Doctor, husband both don't believe
I have had several close friends as well as my mother tell me that they believed I had ADD. I took a couple of long questionnaires from online including one by Dr Amen. I scored extremely high for having ADD. I showed it to my husband and also my doctor. My doctor said that anyone could have any number of these symptoms and not have ADD. I said but I have nearly all of them and they're ruining my life. Well, he just prescribed an anxiety scrip and now my husband is even more upset about my immature, stupid behavior. I can't take it anymore. No one believes me, no one will try to understand - just condemn and tell me to grow up.
