An Incredible Story

A parent recalls the proud moment her son completed a writing task on time.

My nine-year-old, Matthew, has LD as well as ADD. Homework time is a challenge every night. Yesterday, his teacher let him write a short story in lieu of a book report.

He started a story about World War III in class — and sat down to finish it as soon as he came home! He worked for an hour straight, and then read it to me. I had a hard time believing he had written it — yet I had watched him write it. I typed it up for him, and we were both proud of it.
