In Tune with Himself

One parent finds inspiration in her son's musical passion.

With a guitar in his hands, my shy, oppositional 16-year-old suddenly becomes focused and goal-oriented. I’ve watched him struggle for hours to write even a single paragraph, then deftly pick out the tune of a song after hearing it once on a CD. Music centers him, and his passion shows through. I find it baffling, but inspiring.

yes Music is my son and my language
David is 10 and is very talented at writing until it is for school!!!! He drags his feet to do his work and I am so limited in the energy I have after 7,8,9,10pm I read here that breaks are important, praise and he has extended focalin until 6pm but that is it baby then we are in the neurological buff as you would say! I too am being treated so it is the blind leading the blind or one ping pong ball bouncing into another! Music, we could write for hours he is an artist and a writer oh forget math but we get through it! thanks for posting I am new here and never had the place to talk about this. Parents don't get it at all. thanks Janet mom of David
