Simple Strategies

A reader shares what techniques have worked for her nine-year-old.

Sticker charts get my nine-year-old daughter very motivated. This simple device results in on-time task completion 90 percent of the time. Relaxation techniques also have good results.

    My 5 years old son
Stickers only work for a limited period of time for me. When he can't accomplish a task several times and his chart is not so interesting I stop the chart for a while to start over later.
