Just In Case...

One reader prepares her ADD child for a time with no meds.

 

When my son was younger, I explained to him that, one day, he might choose to stop taking medication for his ADD, so he needed to know how to behave off the meds as he did when he was on the meds.

Now that he is 20, he has decided that he is not ready to be off medication — but he knows how to act appropriately, even if he forgets to take it.

    Just in case....
    I think that is wonderful. I have a 18 year old daughter and she has stopped her meds. But we can tell the difference. What made your son decide to go back on meds?
