My eight-year-old daughter's unlimited energy helps her endurance in the swimming pool and on the soccer field. On the other hand, she's very competitive, so she has some trouble keeping friends on her teams.

Overall, I think sports are very good for her — and I've definitely observed improved bedtime and sleep habits after a practice or game.
