Everyone's a Comedian

When adult friends make light of your diagnosis.

"I was diagnosed at age 47. When I tell people, I sometimes get dubious looks and dumb comments such as, 'Well, I forget things and get distracted — maybe I have ADD, ha-ha.'"

    Making light of ADHD
I understand what you're saying. Similarly, when I was diagnosed with ADHD, no one really knew how much I had been struggling with it for so many years - or how badly I have it. I have severe ADHD, and going on meds was a huge life change for me. Granted, many of my friends didn't really "get" or want to know the real me - and I realized I was in some unhealthy friendships too. I get a bit lonely these days, but I know that change is not always easy. Keep your head up!
