Bullying can have serious long-term emotional, physical, and academic effects on defenseless school-age children, especially those with AD/HD and other special needs. The impact of the nastiness, the mean words, and/or the physical harassment, has a deeper and more long-lasting impact because these children are already fragile. They don't have the strategies that a typical child may have for stopping the bullying or articulating what has happened to them. Barry and Fran McNamara will discuss the implications of bullying on students with AD/HD and what parents can do to get the school boards, principals, teachers and/or police to take it more seriously
