Prices for brand-name drugs, such as the popular attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) drug Adderall, have more than doubled in recent years, according to Congressional investigators' findings, as reported in the The New York Times.
The New York Times reports that Adderall was among 416 brand-name drug products studied by Congress to have a price-hike of at least once by 100 percent from 2000 to 2008.
The attention deficit community is largely affected by these costs -- almost one-third of the drugs whose prices increased are those used to treat comorbid conditions associated with ADHD such as depression and anxiety, the New York Times explains.
