Generic ADHD Med Hits Market Early

Adderall XR now available in generic versions.

Teva, owner of Barr Pharmaceuticals, is now selling generic versions of Shire's Adderall XR. The patent on the drug is not set to expire until 2018, but due to a patent litigation and licensing settlement, the generics are now available.

The generic capsules will be offered in doses ranging from 5- to 30-mg doses.
