Popular game show host Howie Mandel raises awareness for attention deficit disorder through the “Adult ADD is Real” campaign.

Like other kids with attention deficit disorder (ADHD), Howie Mandel -- host of the game show Deal or No Deal -- had trouble focusing in class and controlling his impulses, which led to all kinds of trouble at school. Mandel wasn’t diagnosed with ADHD until he was an adult and the diagnosis came as a big relief.
Now, Mandel wants the public to know that ADHD is a real and treatable disease and that it is never too late to seek help. The “Adult ADD is Real” campaign hopes to encourage adults who think they may have ADHD to get a medical evaluation. According to a national study, ADHD affects approximately 9.8 million people.
