New Study Tries to Link Environmental Causes to ADHD

A new study will follow thousands of children from birth in an attempt to link attention deficit disorder, asthma, autism, and other major health problems to the environment.

In an attempt to explain the rise in diagnosis rates of children with attention deficit disorder (ADHD), autism, and other health problems, a large-scale study has been launched to discover the affect of the environment of children’s health issues. Parents of ADHD children may find this study especially revealing.

The research, part of the National Children’s Health Study, will follow thousands of children from the womb to age 20 to see if environmental factors like pollution and pesticides may cause symptoms of ADHD and other childhood illnesses.
