After a year-long absence, chewable Methylin (methylphenidate) tablets are back on the market. Designed to be as effective as other forms of methylphenidate, the tablets are intended for children who have trouble swallowing pills.
Shortly after introducing the tablets last year, the drug's maker, Alliant Pharmaceuticals, took them out of stores because of variations in the strength of the pills.
