Henry Winkler, the actor who played "the Fonz" in 70s TV show Happy Days is fronting a new initiative in the U.K. designed to boost the confidence of children with special educational needs. The aim of the initiative is to improve the self esteem of children with learning disabilities and to develop greater understanding of the way in which different people learn. The actor, 64, was not diagnosed with dyslexia until he was 30. His struggles with school inspired him to write children’s books that follow a character called Hank Zipzer, who also has special education needs. Read more at Children and Young People Now |
